Frequently Asked Questions

Are you a fiduciary?

Yes! If you are unfamiliar with the term, it means I am legally required to put your interests above my own. To me, this is common sense and more of a philosophy on life but I am glad to be held to this standard.

Do you have a minimum amount required to work with you?

Nope! I became an advisor to help everyone, not just those who have a high net worth.

Where will we meet? Do I have to come to your office?

Flexibility is my middle name. Not really (it's Daniel) but I do what is most convenient for you. That can be meeting at our office in Grand Ledge, your home, a local coffee shop, or from the comfort of your home via a virtual meeting.

How is my money invested?

Once we come up with your personalized strategy, your money is invested through a third party referred to as a custodian. They invest your money how we tell them to and will hold your money at all times. They are heavily regulated and well established. An online portal will be available for you to have 24/7 access to your account.

What do you charge to work with you?

I am a fee-based advisor and my AUM (assets under management which means the amount I am managing for you) fees are dependent on the strategy that is agreed upon but will be between 0-1% of AUM.

I offer some flexibility by also offering one-time or annual flat fees for comprehensive financial planning in certain cases (these prices can have some variability based on the complexity of the plan).

What do you specialize in?

The people I work with are at different stages in life and have different goals in mind but the two types of people I work with most are those getting ready to retire or just starting retirement. I also work a lot with corporate professionals due to my experience working for a Fortune 150 Company.

Can I get ahold of you or do you have so many clients you only speak with the high net value ones?

From day 1, I vowed to be as reachable and responsive as I possibly can to everyone I work with. I limit the number of families I work with to be sure this will always be the case. My phone is always on and I check my e-mail throughout the day.

How are you different from other financial advisors?

I aim to find clients that feel like family. I plan on being in this business a long time and getting to watch a family grow while we achieve their financial dreams is my top priority. The pillars I build these relationships on are offering custom and low cost strategies, active communication, continuing investment education, and minimizing taxes. What is your favorite part of being an advisor?

Being able to buy people more time. It may be more time in retirement to spend time with family or on hobbies, more time to focus on other parts of your life instead of investing, or more time not worrying about how you will achieve your goals because you have confidence in our plan. Time is our most precious commodity and being able to buy more of it for people is what gets me up in the morning.
